BIELANY HOSPITAL – INSTALLATION OF THE VAS IVO SYSTEM
The building was designed in the socialist realist style and was the largest hospital investment during the six-year plan in Warsaw (150,000 m³). Construction works began in 1953. Initially, it was planned that the hospital would be a center for training doctors. The facility began operating in December 1960. In the 1980s, a 3-story pavilion was added to the hospital. In December 1999, the hospital was named after Father Jerzy Popiełuszko.
