Solutions for airports

VAS IVO

A certified, modular and reliable system that will ensure the safety of customers, employees and all people staying in the building. Thanks to the use of the Voice Alarm System, your facility will also meet the required fire safety regulations.

SERVICES AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT

Measurement services, design and technical support. Thanks to an experienced team of engineers, we provide electroacoustic services at the highest level.

Airports are among the largest transport hubs in the world. Even in a difficult year for international transport in 2020, airports served a total of 3.36 billion passengers. It is therefore not surprising that with such a large number of people - passengers or employees staying at the airport, strict regulations regarding their publicity are necessary.

A properly selected and configured VAS should meet all the necessary functions. Both informational and those enabling well-organized communication and organization during emergency events requiring e.g. evacuation. The high quality of the messages delivered is crucial, especially since people staying at the airport facilities are often of different nationalities. By maintaining appropriate quality standards, the comfort and safety of people who are often there for the first time and who may not have had the opportunity to learn about the content of the messages are increased.

An important factor in configuring the sound system at airports is the structure of the facility - often a huge indoor room. The key here is a good quality sound system ensuring proper intelligibility of messages in all acoustic conditions, both inside and outside the facility.

VAS at the airports

Applications of the VAS IVO system:

  • alerting about the threat of fire,
  • alerting about terrorist and bomb threats,
  • alerting about a disaster,
  • evacuation control,
  • radio station for communication with customers and employees,
  • music background,
  • publicizing information and organizational announcements,
  • a set of sound signals improving the understandability and hierarchy of messages for customers.

The task of VAS is to effectively deliver information and messages to groups of people in at-risk areas who may not have had the opportunity to learn the content of the messages before and may be hearing them for the first time. This is where the issue of speech audibility and recognition arises, which mainly depends on the quality of the system design, the VAS equipment used, its quality and adaptation by engineers to a given building.

ADVANTAGES OF VAS IVO:

  • system modularity
  • easy, individual configuration
  • versatile use
  • highest quality
  • no redundant elements

INTEGRATION OF DSO SYSTEMS – EXAMPLE MODULES:

WAA card – providing connection of an external audio source to the VAS. Such a source may be an audio player, but also a TV or projector, which will allow the image to be synchronized with the sound from the speakers included in the VAS.
Integration of the VAS IVO system with the BMS system - such a connection is implemented using the RS-485 data transmission standard. The signal input needed for such a connection is located on the back of each VAS central controller (KG-ETH or KG-ETH-MAR).

SENDING MESSAGES USING VAS:

WAA card - connecting a microphone as an external source
KKO card - enabling the connection of one or several wide range of microphones (MI, MA and MAR series) dedicated to the VAS IVO system.

This solution usually works better than the WAA card, because the microphones allow you to deliver a message only to the selected zone or zones, which is not possible when using microphones from other manufacturers. Additionally, each of the MI, MA and MAR series microphones has the ability to connect an external audio source, which allows us to control the playback of background music from the microphone.
