Mieczysław Karłowicz Szczecin Philharmonic – project consulting
The building was constructed in 2014 according to the design by the Catalan architectural studio Barozzi/Veiga. The icy form of the building was hailed as a new icon of the city even in the early stages of construction. The project also won first place in the prestigious Eurobuild Awards 2014 competition in the category of Best Architectural Project of the Year. The excellent acoustics of the symphonic hall stem from the special geometry of the walls and ceilings, developed by the architects in collaboration with Dr. Higini Arau, a Barcelona-based specialist in architectural acoustics.
